Alloy Hastelloy C22 is widely accepted alloy for various purposes. This alloy is stabilized with alloying elements like tungsten, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium that improvises resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. In the alloy, the high content of chromium is providing excellent resistant to oxidizing media and tungsten and molybdenum is providing reducing media resistance. Additionally, the grain boundary precipitation formation is resisted at the weld heat affected area.
