What are the advantages of fasteners?
Alloy 310S is an austenitic SS developed for use in the higher temperature applications.
These fasteners have resistance to oxidation up to 2010 deg F under the mild cyclic environments. It has a higher composition of chromium content and the average amount of the nickel content that resists sulfidation and can be used in the moderate carburizing environments. The strong carburizing environments of thermal process equipment usually require nickel content fasteners.
These fasteners can be utilized in the oxidizing and nitriding and thermal processing plants. These fasteners are also found useful in the cryogenic applications with low magnetic properties and lower toughness up to -450 deg F.
These fasteners are subjected to both hot and cold working process. It is heated between 1202 t 1742 deg F. These fasteners can be subjected to sigma phase precipitation. It is exposed to the solution annealing process in order to restore a higher degree of toughness. UNS S31008 (310 S) is the low carbon version. Mainly, it is utilized for the ease of fabrication. The other version is developed for higher creep resistance. For an exception, the grain size and carbon amount meet both alloy requirements.
Stainless Steel 310s Fasteners have the vulnerable property of weldability, so it is weldable by all standard welding process.
