SMO 254 Pipes & Tubes are designed from high alloyed austenitic stainless steel that is generally used in seawater and chloride containing media. The inclusion of chromium, nitrogen and molybdenum content ensures outstanding resistance to the crevice and pitting corrosion. These grades of pipes and tubes are significantly stronger and harder than other grades. The tubes feature outstanding ductility and impact strength. The presence of low carbon content decreases the risk of carbide precipitation during heating. These pipes & tubes exhibit good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and general corrosion at hostile environments.
The annealing of pipes & tubes is performed at 2100-2200 degree F that is water quench. Furthermore, these are hot and cold worked.
