Introduction of Inconel 600 alloy:
Basically, it is a nickel, chromium, and iron base alloy. it is a solid solution strengthened alloy typically used for applications that require an elevated temperature and corrosion resistance ability. These can be exposed in the Service temperatures from cryogenic temperatures up to 2000 deg F.
The application of these pipes and tubes are introduced in the chemical processing environments.
How these pipes and tubes are made?
These pipes and tubes are made by the hot and cold forming process. The hot working is performed in the temperature range between 1600 deg F to 2250 deg F. Any other working process is avoided between this temperature that causes lower in the ductility. The cold working rate is lower than its standard version. The utmost welding can be achieved by the standard welding process such as TIG, MIG, arc and resistance welding. This alloy is slightly more machinable compare to its standard grade. Typically, as the other nickel content alloy, the machining process can be performed by the heavy tooling and equipment. The annealing process without excessive grain growth can be performed in the temperature up to 1850 deg F for 15 minutes.
The fine structure of the alloy offers better corrosion resistance as well as higher tensile, impact and fatigue strength.
